Start

Start

It seems like Start is a good option for internet plans in Toronto. People say that Start has good customer service and no outages in five years [3] , and their plans are cheaper than Teksavvy's [4] . They re-sell Rogers Cable and Bell DSL internet [6] , so you should check with them to see what's available in your area. And if price is most important, then their plans start at $20/month [8] .
Beanfield

Beanfield

Beanfield seems to be one of the best options for internet plans in Toronto. People say that it has good reliability [3] , and it's available in some buildings [4] . It offers 1GB down/1GB up for $50 a month [5] , so it's not too expensive compared to other options. It also seems to offer good speeds compared to other options, such as Fido's plan for $37.50 a month for 75mbps [5] .
Fibrestream

Fibrestream

Fibrestream seems to be a good option for people in Toronto who are looking for an internet plan. People say that it has good reliability since it is fibre and offers unlimited usage. It is also available in some buildings in the city [4] . It may not be as cheap as other options [7] , but it is worth considering if speed and reliability are important.
Rogers

Rogers

It seems that Rogers is one of the most popular options for an internet plan in Toronto [3] , as they have the best infrastructure in place and usually provide the fastest and most consistent service at a competitive price [3] [4] . They offer a plan for 500mbps for $79 (taxes in) or $46 for 75mbps [5] , and a loyalty program which can save you money in the long run [8] . Alternatives like Beanfield and Fido may offer cheaper plans than Rogers, but people seem to prefer the reliability of Rogers over other options [4] [5] .
TekSavvy

TekSavvy

TekSavvy seems to be a reliable option for internet in Toronto. People say that it has unlimited usage and good reliability [2] [4] , while it also has had poor customer service in the past 6 months [4] . It is cheaper than some other options [6] , though not as cheap as some fringe providers [6] . It is also not as fast as some of the fibre-to-the-door options like Beanfield [8] .

When it comes to speed, Virgin Plus [1] offers fibre if you bundle cellphone and home internet, while Oxio.ca [1] offers 75 Mbps down for $50 and Netcrawler [1] advertises 24/7 speeds with low ping times.

    Price

IVCTel [2] , Tententel [2] , Fido Home Internet [2] , Rogers [2] , Beanfield Fibre Internet [2] , Start [2] , and TekSavvy [2] all offer competitive internet plans in Toronto. For even cheaper options, Altimatel [5] has plans starting at $20, while IVC [5] offers a 100m plan for $40.

    Data Limit

Rally.ca [5] has 1 Gbps for $45 per month, while Beanfield's plan includes 1 Gbps for $50 a month plus tax with no caps. Rogers' Ignite Internet 75-Unlimited Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem is offered at $48/month (before tax).

    Reliability

Fibrestream [4] is known for its good reliability since it is fibre and unlimited usage, while Start.ca's customer service is "loads better than my friends horror stories using a competing re-seller of internet" according to one user. Tekksavvy also has good reliability and unlimited usage, but their customer service in the past 6 months has been poor per another user's experience. E-Box also provides good service but only cable, not fibre.

    Availability

Beanfield is only available in certain buildings and FibreStream in some buildings as well; however Starlink just outside the city could be an option according to one user's experience. Another user suggests looking at which provider has fibre to the door in your area if seriously high speed is important but you need to pay more for it then. Lastly, another user suggests not to go with Bell but Fibe if available in your area as they get faster+cheaper speeds with loyalty discounts applied over time.

    • Beanfield:
      • If you end up in a Beanfield building, you win.
    • Bell or Rogers:
      • Otherwise you have Bell or Rogers to choose from, or their TPIA offerings that have worse service.
    • Start.ca:
      • Rock solid, priced right, based in London Ontario and they pick up the phone fast.
    • Fringe Providers:
      • If price is most important, there are some fringe providers that are cheap.
    • High Speed:
      • If seriously high speed is important, you need to find out which provider has fibre to the door in your area, but you are going to pay for it.
    • Starlink:
      • Starlink just outside the city.
    • Best in Your Building:
      • The best you can get in your building. There’s quite a few smaller providers that aren’t super well known.
    • Not Bell:
      • Not Bell. Whatever you do, not Bell.
    • Bell Fibe:
      • BELL FIBE 100% make sure FIBE is avaiable in your area. If it is, go for it and tell them where you would like the router to suite your internet speed priority. I pay 100$ CAD for 1GB download and 1GB upload speed. I actually get these speeds when doing a speed test and downloading’s games on ethernet (wired).
